CASE Lab

The CASE Lab

Founded in 2022, the Construction, Architectural, and Structural Engineering (CASE) lab provides accredited testing for the purposes of new product evaluation and building code compliance.

Current mechanical testing capabilities include static and cyclic hydraulic testing equipment with up to 400,000lbs capacity. Multiple load frames are available for compression, tension, and flexural testing. The lab has multiple rapid and long-term data acquisition systems customizable to nearly any setup. Four separate temperature-controlled chambers are available as well as over 5000 ft2 of testing space.

Our lab has additional far-ranging capabilities and can rely on the world-class expertise of specialists within the Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction for customized and standard testing or research and development. The CASE lab has experience developing new testing procedures through IAPMO or ICC for new products. Feel free to request new procedures to be added to our accreditation scope.
